When youre trying to understand some of the odd words used in the game of poker or when you want to know more about online casino games names, the word "slang" will probably come into the discussion.
Anyone who hasn't played poker but stands around a poker table to watch and learn might be amused and confused by some of the terms. There are also a number of interesting, somewhat odd, terms in roulette, craps and other casino action.
In the great old game of poker you will hear about "the nuts" of course, when a player has the best hand possible. You may hear one player accuse another of sandbagging (extreme slow-play of a good hand). But be careful you don't sandbag too much or the other players may see you as a target and try to "bust" you out of the tournament.
What other terms might you expect to hear or see at the poker table? How about a few of these -- some slang, others just standard poker lingo:
- Deuce - the 2 card in each suit
- Ladies Queens
- Wheel low straight A, 2, 3, 4, 5
- Broadway high straight 10, J, Q, K, A
- Fish the least skilled, most vulnerable player at the table (Hint don't be this player).
There are dozens of such terms, most unique to poker. That doesn't even start to explain some of the unique online casino games names that have been invented through the years.
